As Easter approaches, it’s a wonderful time to engage your little ones with the joy and wonder of the season. One of the best ways to do this is through storytelling with books! Whether you’re looking to teach them about the significance of Easter, introduce them to cute bunnies and colorful eggs, or simply share some quality reading time together, there are plenty of great Easter-themed books perfect for toddlers. Themed books are great for gift-giving and adding to your littles Easter basket. There are so many great books to choose from, but here are some of our favorites:
1. “The Easter Story” by Patricia A. Pingry
This book is a fantastic introduction to the Easter story for toddlers. With simple text and colorful illustrations, it beautifully explains the religious significance of Easter in a way that young children can understand. This book is not graphic or gory in any way, it is short and sweet and to the point and great for toddlers to start learning about what Easter is really about.
2. “Where Are Baby’s Easter Eggs?” by Karen Katz
Toddlers will love lifting the flaps in this interactive board book as they search for Easter eggs with the adorable baby in the story. It’s a fun and engaging way to celebrate the holiday! Another popular book in this series is “Where is Baby’s Belly Button?”.

We love the classic Mouse books at our house and I’m sure you do too! This time, join Mouse as he goes on an Easter egg hunt with his friends. With its catchy rhymes and cute illustrations, it’s sure to become a favorite with your little one.

It’s a delightful tale about creativity, perseverance, and the joy of giving. We love all of Jan Brett’s books so this is a great one to add to your collection if you’re a fan, too!
9. “How to Catch the Easter Bunny” by Adam Wallace and Andy Elkerton
Part of the “How to Catch” series, this Easter book is all about trying to catch the Easter Bunny in action. This is a book that you can combine with STEAM contraptions of your own to try and catch the Easter Bunny red-handed yourselves! Your little ones will love reading this funny, creative book this Easter and for many Easters to come.
10. “You’re My Little Honey Bunny” by Natalie Marshall
This colorful and cute rhyming book has interactive features such as die-cut shapes in the pages to hold their interest. This book describes the love between a parent and child without even ever saying the word love! This is one book in a series of many called “You’re My Little” and each of them are so precious, you’ll want every single one. This is a great book for spring, Easter, or just any time of year.
11. “Construction Site: Spring Delight” by Sherri Duskey Rinker and Ag Ford
Perfect for any little kiddo in your life (but especially the boys!), this adorable book is about Easter time at a construction site. As the snow melts, there are all kinds of signs of spring to uncover! This book features lift the flaps and your toddler will love to uncover flowers, animals, and egg surprises!
12. “Don’t Push the Button! An Easter Surprise” by Bill Cotter
Featuring Larry the monster, this interactive book is educational and includes counting, colors, and following directions. This is a book that all toddlers would love that is different from other classic Easter stories. So, if your little or a little one you know has every book you can think of, you should be safe with this and it’s one that will be enjoyed by all.
In my opinion, you can never have too many books! We adore being gifted books and you can find my toddler’s current favorite books here! We carve out reading time every day and even if my kiddo isn’t feeling into it, I still find it beneficial to read to her in the background. It is especially fun to read her books based on the season or holidays and is a good way to help your little understand more about what is going on in the world around her.
Reading Easter books with your toddler is not only a fun and beneficial activity but also a wonderful way to teach them about the traditions and meaning behind the Easter holiday.
