Toddler Easter Basket

As Easter and the anticipation of warmer weather approaches, it’s time to start thinking about what to fill your toddler’s Easter basket with. For many parents, crafting the perfect Easter basket is not only a tradition but also an opportunity to be creative and enjoy their child’s reaction when they see it, knowing the Easter bunny has arrived.

With so many options available, it can be overwhelming to choose the right items that are not only fun but also safe and age-appropriate.

I have scoured the internet searching for the best 2-year-old Easter basket fillers and I’m delighted to share with you what I’ve found.

1. Stuffed Animals

Toddler Easter Basket

Start your little one’s Easter morning with a burst of cuddly joy by including a soft stuffed animal in their basket. Choose an adorable bunny, chick, or lamb, perfect for snuggling and comforting. Make it even more special by opting for a personalized stuffy!

A stuffed animal I’m including in my littles Easter basket this year is a crocheted chick in an egg! This is adorable and soft and I know my daughter will love the fact that it “hatches”. This is a great, creative item to add to your 2-year-old’s Easter basket.

2. Interactive Books

A classic item to include in your child’s Easter basket is a book! Foster your child’s love for reading and exploration by adding interactive books to their Easter basket. Choose books with vibrant illustrations, touch-and-feel elements, or lift-the-flap features to engage their senses and encourage interactive learning. Whether it’s a story about Easter eggs or a book about springtime animals, these books will provide endless entertainment for your curious toddler.

3. Educational Toys

Why not make Easter a learning opportunity for your two-year-old? Consider including educational toys that promote cognitive development and fine motor skills. From shape sorters to stacking blocks, puzzles to musical instruments, there are plenty of options to choose from that combine learning and fun all in one package.

A perfect Easter-themed educational toy is the matching eggs shape recognition puzzle. Kids can test their fine motor skills and learn about colors and shapes while having fun!

4. Art Supplies

Unleash your child’s creativity by giving them a set of art supplies in their Easter basket. Crayons, washable markers, finger paints, and coloring books are excellent choices for toddlers who love to express themselves through art.

If you have all the normal art supplies, consider getting something like the Crayola Color Wonder Mess-Free Set for the car (think vacation coming up this summer!). If this is something you already have another option could be the Melissa & Doug Water Wow that colors the pages only using water. Any of these are great additions to your Easter basket and are a must-have for travel.

5. Outdoor Play Essentials

Toddler Easter Basket

With the arrival of spring, it’s the perfect time to encourage outdoor play and exploration. Add items like bubbles, sidewalk chalk, or a mini gardening kit to your child’s Easter basket to encourage fun outdoors. These simple yet engaging toys will provide hours of fun while encouraging physical activity and appreciation for nature.

If you haven’t heard of Fubbles, you are really missing out! Toddlers are bound to spill their bubbles as they’re working on their coordination and motor skills. Fubbles are no spill bubbles so you and your tot don’t have to think twice about it!

Another cute Easter-themed option is egg-shaped sidewalk chalk. It comes in a carton and all!

6. Musical Instruments

Nurture your child’s love for music and rhythm by including musical instruments in their Easter basket. From tambourines to xylophones, shakers to bells, there are plenty of options available that are safe and age-appropriate for toddlers. The great thing about this Easter basket stuffer is you can use these items inside or out making them very versatile!

This year I will be including this Melissa & Doug Musical Instrument Set in my toddler’s Easter basket. She loves music and this will be right up her alley!

If you are looking for an Easter-themed musical instrument, check out these musical shake eggs. These are adorable and will have your little moving and grooving all around.

7. Healthy Snacks

Toddler Easter Basket

Balance out the sweetness of Easter treats with some healthy snacks tucked into your kiddo’s basket. Consider adding individually packaged snacks like dried fruit, crackers, or organic fruit pouches that are easy for little hands to hold and enjoy. This way, you can indulge in some Easter treats without worrying about excessive sugar intake! Who doesn’t love the best of both worlds?

8. Outdoor Gear

Prepare your little one for outdoor adventures with practical items like sunglasses, a sun hat, or a reusable water bottle tucked into their Easter basket. These are things I included in my littles Easter basket last year and will 100% be doing again this year. Everyone is itching for the warmer weather and maybe by buying some warm weather gear it will make it come sooner! A girl can dream, right?

There is a myriad of great items you could include in your little one’s Easter basket. From Easter-themed stuffed animals, toys, and musical instruments. To a basket that is geared towards their favorite character, or just a bunch of their favorite things in general!

At 2 years old, our kiddos will be able to enjoy and understand Easter a little bit more this year and that will make it that much more fun and enjoyable for all.

It will also be more fun this year to stuff Easter eggs with all kinds of goodies! Seeing their faces light up as they open the eggs is going to be a blast and will be such a great memory to hold onto.

Mamas, this Easter, don’t forget your camera to capture the sheer joy on your little one’s face as they sort through their Easter basket and as they discover what is hiding inside the eggs they find. But also remember to thoroughly enjoy the moment and soak it all in. There will never be another one quite like this one.

Happy Easter!

XOXO,

Katie
