If you’re anything like me, getting ready in the morning needs to be as easy and quick as possible. When you have a little one bopping around, it’s so hard to find time for yourself to do simple things like get dressed or put your makeup on in the morning! If you’re reading this post, you’re likely in the same boat. I have found the best products to use that give me an awake, polished look that actually makes me look like I have my life together! And the best part is, it takes me less than 10 minutes in the morning to complete. Read below to find out what products are in my daily routine that I can’t live without.

I just want to take a quick second to talk about how important completing a skincare regimen is before you start your makeup routine! Find out what basic, quick, must-have products I use in my busy mom skincare regimen post.

1. Concealer

I honestly don’t have time to put a full face of foundation on every morning so I use concealer to cover up what is necessary. This usually includes my undereye circles (hello never seeming to be able to catch up on sleep), and if I have any sort of acne that day.

I have genetic dark circles and hollowing under my eyes so I actually use a couple of different products to help cover them! Each of these items I have been using for years and they seriously do wonders for my under eyes. I can make 5 hours of sleep look like 8-10, easy, by using these.

Color Corrector– This is the most important part if you have dark circles like me. On the color wheel, yellow or peach cancels out blue/purple hues and is great to use to help hide your dark circles. If you have light to medium skin, use yellow or peach colored. If you have medium to dark skin, use a deeper orange shade to color correct. I have light skin and use L.A. Girl Pro Conceal yellow color corrector. This is something you’ll want to use before any other concealer!

Heavy-Duty Concealer– Top off the color-correcting concealer with a more heavy-duty one to finish the job. My favorite go-to is Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer. It’s a great heavy-duty concealer that doesn’t crease or dry you out. This is also the concealer that I use if I have any blemishes to cover and it does an amazing job. Because I don’t wear foundation, I match this concealer to the shade of my skin as exact as I can so you can’t even tell I’m wearing anything!

I apply a thin layer of bareMinerals Mineral Veil to all of the areas I used concealer on to help set it all and mattify it.

2. Mascara

Applying mascara can do wonders to make you look awake. I apply some to both my top and bottom lashes to make my eyes pop! I have used several mascaras over the years, from drugstore to high-end, and from waterproof to non-waterproof. So far, my favorite has been Covergirl Lash Blast. One of my biggest pet peeves is when mascara flakes and leaves a residue above and below my eyes as the day goes on. SO many mascaras do this and I have gotten rid of so many for this reason. Even waterproof mascaras do this! I have gone through a few tubes of the Covergirl Lash Blast and haven’t had any issues with it thus far! This is also a cleaner mascara that is vegan and doesn’t have parabens, talc, sulfates, or mineral oil.

3. Brows

I used to never do my brows and I decided to start one day and I haven’t stopped since! In my opinion, it completes my look and makes me look put together. I don’t go crazy with filling them in, I sharpen the shape just a little bit and fill the front in so it looks less sparse. I honestly think it elevates my look and is so easy to do. For years I have religiously used the IT Cosmetics Universal Eyebrow Pencil. It stays put, doesn’t create harsh lines, and what’s really cool is the universal taupe shade adjusts to all hair colors depending on the pressure used! This is a great brow product to have in your arsenal.

4. Bronzer and Blush

To give me the perfect airbrush finished look to my makeup, I complete it by using a touch of bronzer and blush. I only use a small amount of bronzer in the contour of my cheek (Nars Laguna Bronzer Powder is a long-time favorite) and top off my cheekbone with Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush. There are so many different ways to contour and add blush to your face, but I always just stick with simple and natural for my everyday makeup. And quite honestly, I always get compliments!

5. Lips

Most of the time, I just pop some Chapstick on and call it a day but sometimes when I’m feeling a little extra, I’ll add some lip gloss or lipstick! I am someone who always needs to have something on my lips no matter what. I can’t stand dry lips! So this is my final step that completes my makeup look each morning.

I try to buy all-natural, local Chapstick but I also love a good Burt’s Bees Lip Balm as well!

In 5 quick and easy steps, you can look put together and be ready to fly out the door! Concealer, mascara, brow pencil, bronzer and blush, and a lip product will complete your 10-minute makeover and give the illusion that you have been getting at least 8 hours of sleep your whole life! This regimen is perfect for people who want to sleep in a little bit longer before they start their day or works wonders for busy moms. Whatever the case may be, this simple but elevated makeup look is perfect for your everyday needs.

What are your favorite makeup products? I always love hearing them and trying new things!

XOXO,

Katie
