Little Sleepies vs Kyte Baby PJs

Little Sleepies vs Kyte

In a world full of clothes that are cute but not so comfy, when your tot is sleeping, comfort is a must!

We need to set the mood in order to set our children up for a good night’s sleep. Que the hatch sound machine, the warm (but not too warm) room, the soft sheets, and their favorite stuffy or blankie.

We all know that sleeping in something uncomfortable, whether it’s too big/small, too tight, scratchy, or too heavy, it can definitely inhibit a good night’s sleep. And let’s face it, if your kiddo doesn’t sleep well at night – you don’t either.

So let’s help set ourselves up for success by choosing the right PJs for our littles!

Bamboo PJs

You likely hear a lot about bamboo PJs, and for good reason! Maybe you have clicked on a link to take a look at some popular options but stop at the price tag. While bamboo PJs may not be the cheapest, they are truly a great investment and you will get your money’s worth – promise! Honestly, there’s not much not to love about bamboo PJs, and let me tell you why:

They are great for all year round– even though bamboo PJs are thin, they are great to wear in any climate. They are breathable and moisture-wicking, keeping your babe cool on summer nights, and warm and toasty in the winter. It helps to control your child’s body temperature no matter the weather, checking one thing off your worry list.

It’s a more eco-friendly option– unlike most fabrics, bamboo is actually a renewable resource meaning it regenerates on its own without needing to be replanted- how cool! Bamboo also grows very quickly and is one of the fastest-growing plants on earth. Because of all this, it does not need to be treated with harsh chemicals like pesticides or with irrigation or fertilizers. Win-win-win!

Bamboo is great for sensitive skin– due to the reasons I listed above, bamboo PJs are a great option for sensitive skin kiddos. As a matter of fact, Bamboo PJs can actually decrease skin irritation!

Bamboo PJs are super soft– I can attest that bamboo products are seriously soft! They are also seriously stretchy which means your kiddo can get more wear out of them, too!

Bamboo is a better choice than cotton– seriously? In my and many others’ opinion, yes! Although cotton is a great option and is less expensive, it is stiffer, not as soft, does not stretch, is less breathable, fades more easily, and is not as sustainable as bamboo.

These are just a few reasons why everyone loves bamboo! And now that I’ve explained what all the fuss is about, let’s get into my favorite bamboo PJs.

Little Sleepies vs Kyte

These are two very popular bamboo brands, and for good reason! I love both of these brands but I prefer some products over others from each. I’m going to dive into these brands separately first before I compare the two together.

Little Sleepies

Little Sleepies IS the ultimate Bamboo PJ brand. People love this brand for several reasons, one being the fun prints they have (don’t worry, they have solids too). But really, my favorite feature about their PJs is the foldable cuffs for hands and feet! This way you can choose whether you want their PJs to be footies – or not!

Another favorite feature is the double zipper. I really prefer this feature when it comes to diaper changes so I don’t have to practically take the whole darn thing off.

I have not tried their 2 piece PJs but I’m sure they are equally as great.

Kyte

Kyte is also a great PJ brand but is more well-known for their sleep sacks. Their PJs come in 2 piece, footies, or zip-up rompers. We have the footies and the zip-up rompers – both of which feature the double zipper. Kyte has a ton of solid colors and some more muted prints that are super cute.

They have amazing sleep sacks (i.e. wearable blankets) for babies and toddlers and even have sleep bag walkers for when your toddler is more on the move and/or grows out of the largest sleep sack. They come in different TOGs which you select based on room temperature (and their site has a guide for).

My tot has been wearing a Kyte sleep sack since she was a newborn (they have a swaddle sleep sack, too!) and she still LOVES her sleep sack! She is very mobile when she sleeps so this stays on and keeps her warm no matter how much she rolls!

I have tried other Kyte products as well, such as their hooded bath towel, and we love it! It is definitely superior to other bath towels we have tried.

Kyte also has amazing customer service. Our first bath towel we ordered came with a small hole in one of the seams. I emailed customer service with a photo and they immediately sent me a replacement! Can’t beat that!

So who is the PJ winner and why?

Although both are great options, I prefer Little Sleepies PJs over Kytes. I think the Little Sleepies PJs are more stretchy and I love the fact that you can fold over the feet if you want! We have used the same Little Sleepies PJs through several sizes, so they last a long time and really grow with your child. I find that with Kyte PJs my tot only can really wear them while she’s in that size. Due to these reasons, Little Sleepies PJs are the clear winner for me!

But, Kyte does knock it out of the park with their sleep sacks and some of their other products as well.

How can I make bamboo more cost-effective?

I like to soak up all the deals I can get and this comes as no exception! I don’t think I have ever paid full price for a Kyte or Little Sleepies product. Both brands have sales a couple of times a year where I snag all the items I need! Keep an eye on both of their Instagrams and sign up for their emails because that’s how they will announce their sales.

*Note* I recommend hopping on the minute their sales release because they are known to sell out super quick (especially Kyte)!

Also, keep an eye out on Facebook groups that sell used Little Sleepies and Kyte products and you can maybe even get lucky at local thrift stores or kids consignments!

Another way to make these products cost-effective is to buy gender-neutral if you are planning on having another little and/or you do have a younger kiddo of the opposite sex. This way you can spread the wealth and both kiddos can enjoy soft, buttery bamboo PJs that you only paid for once, on sale! Woohoo!

The bottom line is, both brands have excellent products and you can’t really go wrong with either one!

I hope some of the things I have reviewed here have helped you to make an easier decision in what to get your little.

Do you have another favorite bamboo PJ brand that you love? I would love to hear it!

Until next time,

XOXO,

Katie
