Being a mom means constantly juggling a million tasks, from taking care of the kids to managing the household and cooking dinner. As busy moms, keeping our homes clean and tidy can sometimes feel like a never-ending battle.
With kids running around, pets leaving their mark, and life’s daily messes, it’s crucial to have reliable cleaning tools at our disposal. When we have so much on our plates, having the right cleaning tools can make all the difference in keeping our homes clean and keeping our sanity.
Today, I want to share with you five cleaning items that have become essentials in my weekly household cleaning routine. These tools have become my go-to weapons in the war against dirt and grime, helping me maintain a clean(ish) home for my family.
1. Norwex Counter Cloths
Norwex Counter Cloths are a game-changer when it comes to cleaning. Made from super-absorbent microfiber, these cloths are designed to trap and remove dirt, bacteria, and other impurities without the need for harsh chemicals.
What also sets these cloths apart from regular run-of-the-mill washcloths is their BacLock technology. BacLock technology inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria within the cloth. We all know how stinky regular washcloths get from just sitting on the counter – no more with these!
I love using these Counter Cloths for everything from wiping down kitchen counters to cleaning up spills and messes around the house. It is also great to use to wipe down the highchair or my toddler’s mini table.
I have become a Norwex girly in the past couple of years, I absolutely love that it cleans while only using water! This allows me to feel safer cleaning the areas my tot eats off of as it has no chemicals. Plus, they’re reusable and machine washable, making them both eco-friendly and cost-effective.
2. Norwex EnviroCloth
Another must-have from Norwex is their EnviroCloth. This versatile cleaning cloth is perfect for tackling a wide range of surfaces, including countertops, appliances, windows, and more. Like the Counter Cloth, the EnviroCloth utilizes microfiber technology to effectively remove dirt and grime with just water.
I actually use this mostly to dry my dishes. That’s not in the description of uses, but it is for me! Believe me when I say, this is the PERFECT dish rag for drying. You know how regular cloths leave the dishes still a little bit wet and sometimes leave a residue? Not these! These seriously dry the dishes completely. I will never not have my EnviroCloth on hand.
Another thing I use my EnviroCloth for every spring is cleaning my windows! I use this in tandem with my Norwex window cloth (another great product). This leaves my windows clean and streak-free every time. And, I don’t have to use a million paper towels like I used to!
3. Shark Vacuum Cleaner
A reliable vacuum cleaner is a mom’s best friend when it comes to keeping floors clean and free of dirt, dust, and allergens. Whether it’s crumbs from snack time, pet hair, or everyday dirt tracked in from outside, a good vacuum can handle it all.
I have used the Navigator Shark Vacuum for years and I love it as much now as the day I got it! It has great suction and allows me to clean carpets and hardwood floors with ease. I usually vacuum once a week even though it could use it more often, but busy mom life ya know? With this vacuum, I haven’t met a crumby mess I couldn’t suck away!
Another thing to note is Shark has great customer service. My parents have been using Shark Vacuums for many years and one time their vacuum malfunctioned. They tried but failed to figure out the issue. They contacted Shark and Shark sent them a whole new vacuum cleaner! Can’t get much better than that!
4. Bissell Steam Mop
For a deep clean without the use of harsh chemicals, a steam mop is the way to go. I love using my steam mop to sanitize and disinfect hard floors throughout my home, including tile, laminate, and hardwood surfaces. The power of steam effectively kills bacteria and germs, leaving floors sparkling clean and safe for my family to walk on, just by using water. This steam mop is incredibly easy to use and requires no additional cleaning solutions, making it both convenient, cost-effective, and eco-friendly.
This is also another product that I’ve had for years and I can’t live without! It makes moping so easy and satisfying. This particular Bissell Steam Mop has a flip-down scrubber which comes in handy for those hard-to-get-off-of-the-floor toddler messes.
5. Melaleuca Cleaners
Melaleuca offers a wide range of eco-friendly cleaning products that are safe, effective, and gentle on the environment. From all-purpose cleaners to bathroom sprays and laundry detergents. Melaleuca cleaners harness the power of natural ingredients like tea tree oil to clean and sanitize without harsh chemicals. I love knowing that I can rely on these products to keep my home clean and fresh without exposing my family to unnecessary toxins.
I use these cleaners on areas that I don’t use Norwex on such as the bathroom or disinfecting the counter after using raw meat. I also use their laundry detergent and I love it!
