Halloween Boo Basket

Boo baskets are such a fun way to kick off the spooky season for toddlers! If you’re not familiar, it’s like an Easter basket but Halloween-themed. It’s the perfect way to get your little one excited for all things spooky (but not too spooky, of course). Plus, who doesn’t love an excuse to shower their toddler with some festive goodies? I love Halloween boo baskets because I don’t like to give my kiddo a lot of candy, especially ones filled with dye! So to me, this is a great alternative that celebrates the fun holiday without the sugar rush. So without further ado, let’s dive into a few fun ideas to fill that adorable boo basket.

1. Halloween-Themed Books

Toddlers love a good story, especially when it’s tied to something exciting like Halloween. Pop in a cute book like Room on the Broom or Spooky Pookie. They’re full of fun rhymes and cute (not scary!) illustrations that your little one will want to read again and again.

3. Non-Candy Snacks

We all know toddlers and sugar don’t always mix, so instead of candy, why not toss in some Halloween-themed snacks? Think pumpkin-shaped crackers, pouches of apple sauce with spooky designs, or even orange-colored veggie puffs. They’ll love the festive packaging, and you’ll feel good knowing it’s something healthy.

4. Halloween Stickers or Coloring Books

Toddlers love stickers! Grab a Halloween-themed sticker book and let them go wild. You could also include a little Halloween coloring book and some chunky crayons. It’s a fun way for them to get creative while embracing the Halloween spirit.

5. Glow-in-the-Dark Toys

Nothing says Halloween like things that glow in the dark. From glow sticks to small toys like glow-in-the-dark balls or bracelets, these are sure to be a hit with your toddler. Plus, they’re great for a little spooky play without the fear factor.

11. Halloween-Themed Bath Toys

Bathtime can be a little spooky too! Look for Halloween-themed bath toys like rubber ducks dressed as witches or ghosts or not so spooky bath toys that light up. They’ll make splashing around even more fun for your toddler, and who doesn’t love adding a festive twist to everyday activities?

12. Play Dough

Toddlers love play dough, and it’s perfect for developing those little fine motor skills. You can find Halloween-themed play dough sets or even grab some in orange, black, and purple colors. Add some small, safe cookie cutters shaped like pumpkins, bats, or spiders, and you’ve got an instant spooky activity!

13. Temporary Tattoos

Safe and easy fun! Halloween-themed temporary tattoos are a fun (and mess-free) addition. Whether it’s tiny pumpkins, cute little skeletons, or friendly ghosts, your toddler will love showing off their “tattoos.”

14. Flashlight or Mini Lantern

Toddlers are fascinated by flashlights, and a mini one just their size will be a hit! You could even find a Halloween-themed flashlight or lantern (this awesome set includes glowsticks too), perfect for pretend play or exploring the “spooky” house in the dark (with supervision, of course).

15. Sensory Toys

17. Reusable Trick-or-Treat Bag

You can add a Halloween-themed trick-or-treat bag that your toddler can use for any fall festivals or Halloween events. Look for something durable and toddler-sized, so they can easily carry it themselves.
