2-Year-Old Book Favorites

One of the things that I was looking forward to the most in motherhood was reading books with my child. I started reading books to her early on, but she never really showed much interest in them until more recently.

Of course, we own many classic books that I also enjoyed in my childhood, but most of the books we have were gifted to us by family/friends and they are the cutest books!

FYI books are a great item to give for holidays or birthdays, we love getting books as gifts! What we love even more is when there is a little note written on the inside by the loved one who gifted it. It is such a special, personal gift to give that will be cherished for many years and looked back upon with a smile.

The great thing about books is they don’t have to be expensive either! You can pick up many great books at your local TJ Maxx or Target for very cheap. So many wins!

Aside from random, cute books we find and ones that are gifted to us, a great place to find amazing quality books is PaperPie (previously Usborne). I discovered this company through being invited to a book party on Facebook actually. There are probably many moms in your local area having these parties, and for good reason, they are great books! This is a great way to purchase PaperPie books because many times you can get a special deal or discount on the books! If you host your own online party, you could even get free books! If this is not an option you want to explore, but you still want to see what they are all about, you can order directly from their website PaperPie as well, and some books they even have on Amazon.

One of the nice things about Paperpie is you can filter the books to be for a certain age group. Paperpie also has puzzles, toys, and lots of educational materials as well. With all of these options, you are sure to find something for all age groups.

But anyway, onto my newly 2-year-old tot’s favorite books! I will tag each one with their associated link below!

Good Night, Bedtime Moon2-year-old books

My little one is obsessed with the moon and stars right now so this is a hit with her! This adorable book features different baby animals and their mothers cuddling up under the moon, saying goodnight. It also has a sparkly, squishy half-moon in the top right-hand corner of the book that my daughter adores squishing as we read along. It’s a short board book that my little one likes to read over and over. The kiddo in your life is sure to love this one as much as we do.

Toddler’s World ABC: A Little Alphabet Board Book2-year-old books

This is a great learning book that my toddler loves. It has bright colors with tons of different illustrations on each page. It goes through the ABCs and with each letter, it has pictures of things that start with that letter so that your little one can start to associate them together! My daughter loves pointing at a picture and I will say “A is for apple”, “B is for balloon”, and so on! At the end of the book, there are fold-out flaps that have all of the ABCs on one big page and we will sing the ABC’s together as a way to end the book. It sounds simple, but seriously, she loves this book.

Disney Baby: I Love You, Mom2-year-old books

This is another book my toddler wants to read over and over. This has been her most long-time favorite! This features cute baby Disney animals telling their mothers why they love them. With each mom and baby pair, there are lift-the-flaps your kiddo will love to lift to continue the story. It’s a very cute book, and perfect for a Valentine’s or Mother’s Day gift.

“That’s Not My” Series2-year-old books

This is an Usborne brand book series that you can find on Paperpie or Amazon. This series is full of different titles such as That’s Not My Giraffe.., That’s Not My Dog.., and That’s Not My Shark.., plus many more! Each book in this adorable series has sensory patches on each page and a little white mouse to spot on each one too! These books help to promote sensory and language development. We have several of these books and my kiddo loves to feel each sensory patch as we read along. We talk about how it feels and what it means in accordance with the story. These are great books that appeal to ages 3 months+!

For this series, I will link to the series page on Amazon and PaperPie.

The Animal Orchestra Plays Mozart2-year-old books

Another Usborne brand book! This is a press-a-sound book that plays a different Mozart number on each page. It features woodland animals playing instruments and has blurbs of facts about Mozart and his life. This is a great way to introduce your child to Mozart in a fun way. My kiddo loves to press the button, play the music, and dance! It is the cutest thing to watch her sway along to classical music as we learn about the artist.

This is also a series that features other artists such as Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, and Bach. We only have the Mozart one but I am definitely going to scoop up some others with how much my daughter loves it!

We try to read at least one book every day before bedtime, and I let my kiddo choose which one. These are the books she reaches for again and again. 3/5 of these books were gifted to us and have those inscriptions inside that I was talking about before, which make me smile every time I open them. I know these will be precious moments we will look back on and cherish.

What are some of your kiddo’s favorite books? We would love to add to our collection!

XOXO,

Katie
